  • Zebra crossing for lovers

    Zebra crossing for lovers

A Chinese city has created a pedestrian crossing with a romantic theme to help put couples in the mood for love, according to "Ananova".
Traffic officials in Chengdu came up with the idea for the crossing which features two hearts and the message in English: "I love you", reports the Tianfu Morning Post.
A spokesman said the local traffic bureau wanted to give the crossing a romantic atmosphere because it was close to the Hejiang Pavilion, a popular dating venue for young couples.
"We want to make everybody who walks on it feel warmth and love from others," said the spokesman, adding that it was believed to be the first crossing of its kind in the whole country.
"We have two wishes - one, that all who walk on it experience long-lasting love and, two, that they obey traffic rules and cross safely."
Tourist Liang Xuemei, from Hainan, asked her friend to pull over and take pictures after spotting the crossing during a tour of the city: "It looks very welcoming," she said.

  • Barca block Ronaldinho from Games

    ronaldinho
Barcelona are refusing to allow Ronaldinho to play for Brazil at the Olympics despite considering him surplus to requirements at the club. Real Madrid forward Robinho was named in the 18-man squad while Manchester United midfielder Anderson is one of three Premier League
    players selected.
The Olympics is the only significant title Brazil have never won and, subsequently, a number of star players have been called up for the football tournament which takes place at the games between 6-24 August.
Along with Anderson, Manchester City's new record signing Jo and Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva were also selected and will miss the start of the Premier League season. Barcelona finished third in the league last season and have crucial Champions League third qualifying round ties on 12 and 27 August.
"The Olympics do not feature in the FIFA calendar and there are no special rulings on the issue, so the club is not obliged to release its players," said a statement released on the club's website on Tuesday.
"In recent weeks, sports director Txiki Begiristain has consistently stated that Barcelona's objective is to have the maximum number of players available for the Champions League qualifier."
Fellow Barcelona star Lionel Messi voiced his desire to represent Argentina in Beijing but the Catalan club has insisted they will only release the player if they are legally required to do so.
New coach Pep Guardiola has said that Ronaldinho does not feature in his plans but, though AC Milan and Manchester City have expressed interest in the playmaker, a deal has yet to be reached that satisfies all parties.

  • "Kalashnikov" for lunch? =)

    sandwich
Unusual restaurant was opened in Bagdad some days ago. Imagine yourself, that you're in Bagdad and you're very hungry and want to go to a restaurant to have lunch. You see an unusual restaurant - above the door there it's written "sandwich can kill you!"
When you enter the restaurant and take a seat, prepairing to eat, the waiter brings the menu in the form of a bullet and offers you to order a sandwich "Kalashnikov" or a pudding "RPG". When you've done the order, the chef, dressed in military camouflage began to cook it.
But as a background music it's impossible to hear classical music, only sounds of broken off shells. I think, it's very romantic..))

  • What will be with "Microsoft"?

    microsoft
Bill Gates finished his work as a president of "Microsoft". He was a president of this company more than for three decades. When he was asked why he decided be leave his work in "Microsoft" he just told that he prefered to devote himself to charity. Of course it's his right, but what will be with the company?
Many people say, that it's not very hard to be a headmaster or a president of the corporation or of the company, because if the system works correctly and all the employees work properly, the headmaster has to control the process. But I can to disagree with this statement according to "Microsoft" company.
Mr. Gates created the first operation system for the computer, when he was learning at college. And of course, he was "the main brain" of the company. The employees have just developed his ideas and projects.
And now, when he went away, the company left without "the main brains". There is a logical question: if the company will develop so fast like earlier, or the speed of its development will be lower...

  • UEFA-2012. Poland and Ukraine or Italy and France?

    uefa
We don't know yet, which country will host the football championship in 2012. There are some candidates to be a hoster. Its Poland and Ukrain.
According to UEFA president's words, the final decision will be made in september only. There are some problems with Ukraine, he said. The stadium is not ready yet, and if Ukraine breaks the deadline, some important matches could be moved to Poland.
But Italy and France also hope to be hosters of UEFA-2012. But I think, they have no chance.
